
Andrew Hoffman received a special award
this past week at the 2010 Missouri Milk and Environmental Health
Association Conference
He
Received the Wilbur S Feagan Award. This award was named for Wilbur
S Feagan in 1992 who received the first award. He originally wanted
to recognize the front line sanitarians in cities,counties and state
that carry the day to day duties of environmental health,education
and disease prevention.
Andrew Hoffman has
been an Environmental Health Specialist for fourteen years for the
Warren County Health Department. Andrew served on the MMFEHA board
for ten years, holding various offices of Secretary,President Elect,
President and Past President. Andrew received a special recognition
award from MMFEHA and was a crucial member and meeting planner for
two years that MMFEHA won the International Association for "Food
Protection's Best Affiliate Annual Meeting" Award. He also
represented MMFEHA as a delegate at the annual NEHA meeting in Alaska.
Andrew's duties at
the Warren County include enforcing the onsite sewage ordiance and
food inspections. He is a member of the Health Advisory Board,LEPC
Committee,Health Fair Committee, and the Safety Committee.
Sewage and Septic Inspections
Proper on-site sewage treatment should be safe to the environment
and to the community. Regular inspections ensure that systems are
installed correctly. All new construction and major repairs
of on-site sewage systems require permits.

Food and Lodging Inspections
Public Health Officials help maintain sanitary standards through
inspection of all food establishments and lodging in the community.
Food establishment inspections are done a minimum of two times per
year. Inspection reports are public record and published monthly
in the Warrenton Journal and the Warren County Record.
Lodging establishments are regulated through the State of Missouri
and are inspected once per year.

Water Testing
Test Kits for bacteriological water sampling of private
water supplies are available only for pick up at our
office Monday - Friday. Water samples not in the appropriate
container will not be accepted. Samples cannot be transferred
from one container to another. The cost of testing is $10.00
which will be billed to you by the state health lab.
Homeowners collect their own samples and may choose to drop
off their sample at our health office for courier pickup.
Samples should be collected the morning of the day they
are submitted. The package must be sealed and have the return
label (provided with kit) fastened on the outside of the
package.
Samples are accepted for courier pick up at the Health
Department Monday - Friday and must be dropped off before
12:30 pm.
