Inspections:

The Warren County Health Department, Office of Environmental Public Health conducts food service inspections under the authority of Warren County Ordinance No. 96-02. This Ordinance sets forth standards by which sources of food, food service establishments, food service personnel, and food service equipment are regulated to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the public.  Critical items relate directly to factors which lead to Foodborne illness, these items must receive immediate action.  Non-critical items relate to the maintenance of food operations and cleanliness, these items are to be corrected by the next regular inspection.

SEPTEMBER 2007

Dairy Queen of Warrenton, 911 N Service Road East, Warrenton, 63383. 09/04/07.  Routine Inspection.  Critical Violations:Excessive amount of flies in kitchen, this is a repeat critical violation; sour milk in storage shed walk-in cooler; blizzard machine not properly cleaned;  cook handling ready-to-eat foods with bare hands; cook placed gloves on hands without washing hands first; and can of pest spray on back counter which is not approved for food service facilities.  Non-Critical Violations:  Back kitchen door and shed doors have excessive gaps, this is a repeat violation;  packaged food in contact with unclean ice in walk-in-freezer; kitchen trash can with food product uncovered, pest attractant;  mops not hung to dry, this is a repeat violation;  floor in walk-in-cooler (both shed and kitchen) unclean; ice cream machine thermometer broken;  take-out boxes and lids on floor in back of kitchen; single service items on floor in storage shed;  toppings cooler door seal unclean; crack between dipper well and table unclean; floor under toppings cooler unclean; ceiling above toppings unclean; food staging warmer unclean; men’s toilet room hand-sink has no liquid soap;  ladies toilet room has no hand drying provision; kitchen hand-sink not working; kitchen 3-vat sink faucet in disrepair;  and night shift has no person in charge.  Re-Inspection, 09/17/07.  This re-inspection was to verify prior critical items have been corrected; non-critical items will be reviewed during your next routine inspection.  A complaint was also received on an excessive amount of flies, hair in blizzard, and unclean wiping cloths being used.  Items related to this complaint were also reviewed.  The prior critical items have been corrected, the number of flies have been reduced, the sour milk in the back storage shed has been removed, the blizzard machines are now properly cleaned, no bare hand contact with ready-to-eat food was observed, employees have been trained on proper hand-washing procedures, and the un-approved pest spray has been removed from the facility.  The manager stated either clean paper towels or wiping cloths in sanitizer solution are used and all long hair is properly restrained.

Hardee’s, 711 N Hwy 47, Warrenton, 63383.  09/05/07.  Routine Inspection.  Critical Violations:  None. Non-Critical Violations:  Lighting over fries not properly protected; mop not hung to dry;  areas behind and under drive-thru soda machine and floor under “”J” freezer not properly cleaned;  ice scoop not properly stored; tile coving in dry storage area in disrepair, this is a repeat violation; wall across from walk-in-freezer in disrepair, this is a repeat violation; hand-sink plumbing in disrepair; 3-vat sink faucet in disrepair; men’ s toilet seat in disrepair; and electric panels in disrepair.

Slatten’s Country Store, 390 Hwy B, Warrenton, 63383.  09/05/07.  Routine Inspection.  Critical Violations: None.  Non-Critical Violations: Ceiling in disrepair, this is a repeat violation; un-used cook stove in facility; and plant growth around exterior of building not controlled.

Holiday Inn Express Warrenton, 1008 N. Hwy 47, Warrenton, 63383.  09/21/07. Routine Inspection.  Critical Violations:  None. Non-Critical Violations:  None.

Lake Sherwood Estates Snack Bar, #1 Nottingham, Lake Sherwood, 63357.  09/20/07.  Routine Inspection.  Critical Violations:  None.  Non-Critical Violations:  None.

JD’s on Main, 201 B East Booneslick, Warrenton, 63383.  09/20/07.  Routine Inspection.  Critical Violations:  None.  Non-Critical Violations:  Light not properly protected in west cooling unit,  this is a repeat violation; light under food warmer not protected;  ice scoop not properly stored;  and floor by hand-sink not properly cleaned.

Country Lake Golf, 15 Country Lake Drive, Warrenton, 63383. 09/20/07.  Routine Inspection.  Critical Violations:  None.  None-Critical Violations:  Lighting in hot dog holding unit not properly protected.

Main Street Coffee House Company, 516 E. Main Street, Warrenton 63383.  09/20/07. Routine Inspection.  Critical Violations:  None.  Non-Critical Violations:  Single service items (cups and lids) stored on floor in upstairs storage room, this is a repeat violation.

Abels Quik Shop, 645 West North Service Rd, Wright City, 63390.  09/24/07.  Routine Inspection.  Critical Violations:  Soda nozzles not properly cleaned.  Non-Critical Violations:  Interior surfaces of microwave not properly cleaned.

Donatelli’s, 10 Wildcat Dr., Wright City, 63390.  09/25/07.  Routine Inspection.  Critical Violations:  None.  Non-Critical Violations: Kitchen toilet room has no covered trash can; and kitchen toilet room door not self closing.

Dollar General, 608 East Booneslick Rd., 63383.  09/26/07.  Routine Inspection.  Critical Violations: None.  Non-Critical Violations:  None.

Corky’s Southern Barbecue, Warrenton, 63383.  09/20/07.  Pre-opening Inspection.  Facility approved to open once items listed are completed and food service permit is obtained.  Planned opening date is October 5, 2007.
