Inspections:

The Warren County Health Department, Office of Environmental Public Health conducts food service inspections under the authority of Warren County Ordinance No. 96-02. This Ordinance sets forth standards by which sources of food, food service establishments, food service personnel, and food service equipment are regulated to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the public.  Critical items relate directly to factors which lead to Foodborne illness, these items must receive immediate action.  Non-critical items relate to the maintenance of food operations and cleanliness, these items are to be corrected by the next regular inspection.

OCTOBER 2007

McDonald’s, 1003 North Highway 47, Warrenton, 63383. 10/01/07.  Routine Inspection.  Critical Violations:  None.  Non-Critical Violations:  Single service items not stored properly in back shed and under tea; floor under drive-thru soda machine not properly cleaned; several cooling and freezing units with no thermometer.

Jack in the Box, 605 N. Service Rd, Warrenton, 63383.10/02/07. Complaint Inspection.  Critical Violations:None. Non-Critical Violations: None.  This inspection is due to a complaint of bare hand contact with ready-to-eat food and an unclean soda machine.  Only items related to the complaint were reviewed.  The manager stated the issues were resolved once brought to her attention.  Disciplinary action has been taken with the employee who had bare contact with the ready-to-eat food and proper food handling has been reviewed with the other employees.  The non-food contact surfaces of the soda machine have been cleaned.

Blumenhof Vineyards, 7860 South Hwy 94, Dutzow, 63342. 10/02/07.  Routine Inspection.  No critical or non-critical violations found.

Belle Starr Playhouse and Cinema, 112 E. Booneslick, Warrenton, 63383. 10/05/07.  Routine Inspection. No critical or non-critical violations found. 

Dairy Queen of Warrenton, 911 N. Service Road East, Warrenton, 63383. 10/05/07.  Complaint Inspection.  This inspection due to a complaint of unclean uniforms, unclean floor, unclean dipper wells, many flies, bare hand contact with ready-to-eat foods, and improper use of utensils.  At time of inspection uniforms were clean, dipper well was clean, bare hand contact with ready-to-eat foods was not observed and no improper use of utensils was observed.  Critical Violations:  Excessive number of flies in facility; wiping cloths stored in unclean water with no sanitizer; hot dogs not held at proper temperature; and toxic chemicals stored next to and above food items.  Non-Critical Violations:  Kitchen hand-sink paper towel dispenser in disrepair; ladies toilet room liquid soap dispenser in disrepair; hot dog roller in disrepair; floor of kitchen unclean in most areas; area under chest freezer has odor and unclean; single service gloves, lids, and bowls stored on floor; employee shoes stored next to single service items under front counter; open can of fudge stored under ice machine fan vent; waffle cones and toppings stored uncovered on counters; trash cans with food in them uncovered, pest attractant; waffle maker not properly cleaned; cabinet interior of slush machine not properly cleaned; light cover above toppings not properly cleaned; and single service spoons available to customers not presented “handle-up”.

Dairy Queen of Warrenton, 911 N. Service Rd. East, Warrenton, 63383. 10/17/07.  Re-Inspection. This re-inspection is to verify prior critical violations have been corrected; non-critical items will be reviewed during your next routine inspection.  Two of the four critical violations have been corrected: the sanitizer for wiping cloths is at a proper concentration and toxic items have been removed so they are not above or next to the food items.  Two critical items that have not been corrected: hot dogs are not being held at 140 degrees or hotter and flies are not being properly controlled. Facility has been placed on an increased inspection interval. Critical Violations: Hot dogs not held at 140 degrees, this is a repeat critical violation. Hot dog roller does not hold product at 140 degrees or hotter, this unit has a history of improper hot holding temperatures and should be repaired or replaced.  Excessive amount of flies in facility, this is a repeat critical violation.  Pest control is in place and must be increased to properly control pests.

Daniel Boone Elementary School,  Warrenton, 63383.  10/26/2007.  Routine Inspection.  No Critical or Non-Critical Violations found.

Kentucky Fried Chicken, 717 N. Hwy. 47, Warrenton, 63383.  10/30/2007.  Complaint Inspection.  No Critical or Non-Critical Violations found.  Comments: This inspection was due to a complaint of old oil odor, workers wiping hands on pants, workers not wearing gloves, and bare hand contact with a ready-to-eat food.  Only items related to the complaint were reviewed. The oil in use was clean, policy for filtering and changing the oil was reviewed.  The manager stated they have switched from a vegetable oil to a soybean oil and they have had other comments about the different odor from the oil. Worker uniforms were clean, reviewed importance of not wiping hands on uniforms and proper hand washing.  The front workers do not use gloves, tongs and other utensils are used to comply with no bare hand contact with ready-to-eat foods.  The manager stated all employees will have a review of proper food handling and the employee who may have touched ready-to-eat food with bare hands will specifically receive more training on pooper food handling.  No score is issued for a complaint inspection.

Dairy Queen of Warrenton, 911 N. Service Rd. East, Warrenton,  63383.  10/30/2007.  Re-Inspection.  This re-inspection was to verify prior critical violations and a repeat critical violation have been corrected. Non-critical items will be reviewed during your next routine inspection.  Two of the critical violations have been corrected, the hot dogs are now being heated as ordered and the hot dog hot holding unit has been removed.  The repeat critical violation has not been corrected, the facility still has an excessive amount of flies. Critical Violations: Controlling pests:  Excessive amount of flies in facility, this is a repeat critical violation.  Non-Critical Violations: Outer openings, Protected:  Excessive gap along area where plywood has been used to cover window/wall where vehicle entered facility two full days prior to this re-inspection.
